August!

So, it seems I missed a month. My apoligies! Truth is, things have been busy, what with 'Faultlines' being officially released in July. For those of you who still don't have a copy, you can now purchase it via PayPal from Avast!'s myspace page, or via digital download on iTunes, eMusic, Napster and a whole load of other people. The response has been terrific and we thank you all!

On Monday the 30th, Avast! drove along the road to Glasgow to the BBC Radio Scotland studios and performed a session live on air with Vic Galloway. It was a great experience, and the session is available to listen to for the remainder of this week at the 'Vic Galloway on Radio Scotland' website here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/musicscotland/vicgalloway/

Faultlines also received a lovely review in the July/August issue of Alternative Ulster who said (among other things) - "...they’re playing intricate indie rock; the quieter moments are reminiscent of American Football, and Bear vs. Shark in parts, but what makes this release impressive is whenever they let out some proper aggressive screams, like on ‘Ahab’. They don’t over-do the screaming and it’s thanks to this that it’s so effective."

This may be the last update here for a while. While we work on some plans for new releases, Avast! will continue to play shows around the country and are currently working on lots of new material to hopefully unveil over the months. August 18th will see the band play a show in Glasgow at O'Henrys, a lovely little venue, and there should be some live action in Dundee in early September for you to check out, so keep an eye on the MySpace page for dates!

Thank you all.
